Green River Valley Flooding
flood insurance

Residents, businesses and farms below the Howard Hanson Dam in the Green River Valley should prepare now for a higher risk of flooding. Parts of Auburn, Kent, Renton and Tukwila—could be flooded and evacuations in some communities are possible.

Watch a presentation to the King County Council about Green River planning, or read the presentation (PDF).

Evacuation plans and routes are currently under development. Evacuation directives will be made in advance of flood waters whenever possible, allowing all major roadways to serve as possible evacuation routes.  You can prepare now by identifying several alternate transportation routes from your home or business to higher ground.
